Meeting
Information.

WHAT GOES ON?

Our meetings are free to attend and you can simply show up, there's no need to book. The format is simple, engage in whatever capacity feels comfortable. We open with some statements (see below) to help guide the meeting towards remaining safe and supportive for anyone thats attending.

After the statements, we have a simple grounding exercise, then maybe a speaker, a reading or some other inspiration, then the meeting is opened up for people to share. This is a time for members to speak if they want to but if you'd prefer to just sit and listen, that's entirely welcomed.

Outside the meeting we encourage our members to connect, support and build the bonds that create and nurture space for growth. Most months, we'll offer social events to allow people continue to develop these connections.

IF YOU NEED ANY MORE INFORMATION OR SIMPLY WANT TO TALK TO SOMEONE BEFORE ATTENDING, PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT US.

Our Statements.

1. This meeting is a space for men to talk, listen, connect, be ourselves and build positive, healthy masculine bonds.

2. We share one at a time and don’t interrupt or comment directly on others sharing. This is to respect each others space.

3. We encourage you to connect outside of the sharing time, exchange phone numbers and support each other.

4. People from all walks of life are welcome, whatever your background, culture or sexuality. Despite our differences we’re all men and look out for each other.

5. If you’re struggling with gender identity there may be better equipped groups or services that support people with these experiences.

6. No one is here as an expert. We just have our own experience of mental health. Whether you’re struggling right now or come to connect and support others, you’re welcome here.

7. We don’t preach at each other in order to avoid what’s happening within us. But We can share what’s been useful to us in our own self development.

8. If you’re feeling suicidal, many organisations can help such as the Samaritans who are available 24 hours a day. This group doesn’t replace professional support such as from your GP or mental health professional. Please speak to the leaders of the meeting for information about other organisations that can help.

9. Please treat who you see here and the details of what people share as confidential. People need to feel comfortable sharing whatever they need to in confidence it won’t be shared elsewhere.

10. Manspace is supported with funding from Changing Minds Kent for the venue, but we continue to accept donations for social activities and materials that help us connect and reach more men.

11. If you have any health or disability needs the organisers might need to be aware of then please let them know so we can help. Also if you are a trained first aider and are happy for the organisers to be aware please let us know.
